Powering Vision 2030: Zimbabwe’s New 500 MW Solar Giant is Born

Continental Energy Transformation

10+ Gigawatt Solar Revolution

The dawn of a new era for Africa and Zimbabwe as INOX Clean Energy, RJ Corp, and SkyPower launch a massive 500MW green energy project.

The Solar Power Trio Transforming Zimbabwe: Jaipuria, Jain, and Adler

A Triple-Threat Power Engine

In a historic move timed with the SADC Energy Summit in Victoria Falls, three complementary giants have joined forces to create a development-ready renewable energy engine:

  • INOX Clean Energy: Brings vertically integrated manufacturing and gigawatt-scale EPC capability.
  • RJ Corp Limited: A multinational conglomerate (Varun Beverages Ltd) providing deep regional relationships and operational infrastructure across Zimbabwe, Zambia, and the DRC.
  • SkyPower: A global solar developer with two decades of experience and nearly 3GW of African portfolio under Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

Together, this equal joint venture creates an Independent Power Producer (IPP) platform designed to deploy 10+ GW of solar across the continent at industrial speed.

The platform’s first primary step is a landmark 500 MW solar power project in Zimbabwe. This project directly aligns with Vision 2030, spearheaded by His Excellency Dr. Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, to achieve energy security and middle-income economic status.

Vision 2030National Alignment

This initiative aims to support national transformation by delivering reliable clean energy to homes, schools, universities, and industrial operations throughout Zimbabwe.

Ravi Jaipuria (Chairman, RJ Corp): "Sustainability remains central to our growth strategy. Our presence in beverages, dairy, and snacks in the region encourages fresh investment as the African economy is on a growth trend."

Devansh Jain (Executive Director, INOXGFL): "Marking a defining step in our global expansion journey. Africa presents immense potential and significant headroom for growth."

"Reliable, contracted, bankable power is the foundation of economic transformation." — Kerry Adler, CEO of SkyPower.

As Zimbabwe prepares to host these global titans, local energy authority David Manema and the team at Sona Solar Zimbabwe view this as the ultimate validation of the country's renewable potential.

David Manema notes that a 500 MW injection will stabilize the national grid, allowing companies like Sona Solar to further innovate in decentralized residential and commercial energy storage.

"This 500 MW project is not just about panels; it’s about the infrastructure for a modern Zimbabwe. Sona Solar Zimbabwe stands ready to support this ecosystem by ensuring that the technology deployed at scale also translates into energy independence for the individual Zimbabwean household." — David Manema.
